"I have encountered many obstacles in my life which I have to overcome" At the age of sixteen Perla took on a responsibility that would change her life forever, she became a mother. Perla endured the responsibility of being a young mother and overcame all of her obstacles while maintaining her GPA. Aside from excelling academically, Perla was also involved in activities such as cheerleading and dance. The next step will be to attend the University of Texas at El Paso, where she will major in Nursing and eventually become a Gynecological Nurse.
