Scholarships

In 2007, 133 local students were recipients of El Paso Community Foundation scholarships. The students represent all of the public high schools in our area and have distinguished themselves through academic honors, extracurricular activities, volunteerism and leadership. The selection process is often handled through the scholarship offices at the University of Texas at El Paso , El Paso Community College , and New Mexico State University. If you are currently enrolled in one of the colleges or universities listed, please contact the scholarship office on campus for more information on scholarships provided by the El Paso Community Foundation.

Graduating high school seniors may apply at their school for the scholarships listed below. Recipients are selected primarily by counselors, principals and/or scholarship committees.

  • LaNelle Boling Scholarship - Regional Day School Program for the Deaf
  • Kenneth P. Gifford Scholarship - All high schools in El Paso County
  • Ruth E. Gillett Scholarship - Andress High School
  • Robert T. Golberg Scholarship - El Paso Independent School District high schools
  • Rosa Guerrero Scholarship - Americas High School
  • Edgar L. & Sibley Cirlot Hunter - Tularosa High School, Tularosa, NM
  • Carly Laverde Memorial Scholarship - Coronado High School
  • Yashar Mahmood Memorial Scholarship - El Paso High School
  • John and Everett Melby Scholarship - El Paso High School
  • Harlow L. Paul III Scholarship - Burges High School
  • First National Bank Scholarship Fund for the Children of El Paso County/Ft. Bliss soldiers Killed in Action
  • Luis Jimenez Memorial Art Scholarship Fund -available for visual art students from El Paso County attending an accredited university. The scholarship will be awarded based on students’ academic ability and artisitic achievement.
